Upstream Stories: Wrap Around

What happens when communities wrap around foster and adoptive families to provide support?

Research shows that 50% of families stop fostering within the first year of care, overwhelmed and exhausted by the frequent appointments, communication with workers, and emotional strain of caring for children who have experienced trauma. However, research also shows that 90% of families surrounded by wrap-around care are still providing care after two years.

Wrap-Around Stories highlight communities coming alongside foster and adoptive families to provide tangible and emotional support. Whether support is offered through organizations, church communities, or informal friend networks, the end result is always the same: foster and adoptive families are uplifted and sustained through their care efforts.
